Rules of the Game

Pokahnights has been implementing the TDA poker rules since September 2016. These rules are accessible to everyone on the website of the TDA (Poker Tournament Directors Association). A copy of these rules is also available at the desk. Below are the rules we practice that differ from the TDA rules.

RULE 2: RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PLAYERS
In addition to the matters mentioned in the TDA rules, the following also applies: players must be registered at Pokahnights. To register, the player must present himself at Pokahroom Antwerp where he or she will be asked for the following details: first and last name; residence; email; date of birth; gender and username. Only employees working for our non-profit institution can register new players. Pokahnights reserves the right to exclude players that have given false details from participating in the events offered. In this case the non-profit can also refuse to award any points or prizes to those players. At the request of the non-profit, the user is required to present an official document with his photo, which proves his identity (a copy of an id, driver's license or passport).

RULE 5: OFFICIAL LANGUAGES
The official languages at our poker tables in Pokahroom Antwerpen are Dutch, English and French.

RULE 7: LATE REGISTRATION
There is an addition to the rule on late registration: players that are bust in another active tournament get half an hour extra to register.

RULE 11: NUMBER OF PLAYERS AT THE FINAL TABLE
At Pokahnights, the final table will never count over 9 players. This means The exception here is that at Pokahnights the final table will never be started with more than 9 players. Even if a 9-handed tournament is played, the final table will start when there are 9 players remaining.

RULE 23: CHIP RACE
No chip race will be held at the Chip-up. When chips are at least half the value of the higher chip value, rounding up of these chips will happen.

RULE 25: CHANGING DECK
Pokahnights mostly offers self-deal events. Therefore, players may request a change of card or even the change of a full deck. The Floor is allowed to check whether this rule gets abused. If there are marked cards, the deck change is allowed. If not, the Floor may refuse a substitution if the cards are still usable.

RULE 66: WARNINGS, PENALTIES AND DISQUALIFICATION
Pokahnights reserves the right to refuse players in the rooms for a definite or indefinite amount of time. This happens only when serious offenses occur, such as aggressive behavior, cheating, etc.
