The curtain falls on the Pokahnights Open
This first edition was a resounding success, totaling no less than 1.370 entries and a prize pool of €477.970 across the entire festival.
The tournament with the highest turnout was, unsurprisingly, the €550 Main Event. A total of 413 players took their shot, slightly exceeding the initial guarantee of €200.000. After three days of intense battle, Aliosha Staes emerged victorious without a deal, taking home €37.500. A remarkable performance that adds to his already impressive record. Behind him, four other players crossed the five-figure mark: Miguel Coussement (2nd – €24.500), Jimmy Praet (3rd – €16.500), Daan Vandewalle (4th – €12.500) and Kim Pauwels (5th – €10.000).
Mini Main
The €250 Mini Main also attracted a large field with 390 entries at the start of the festival. The top three players agreed on a deal. The podium was made up of Michael Snelders (1st – €15.915), Glenn De Backer (2nd – €14.000) and Ruben De Taeye (3rd – €11.000).
Highroller
The Highroller counted 42 entries, good for a total prize pool of €38.850. After a lightning-fast heads-up, regular Mathias Moutaoukil prevailed against his final opponent Bartolomiej Grabowski. A handsome performance that earned him €15.100, while Bartolomiej could console himself with a nice €8.980.
Mystery Bounty
Another standout performance came from Kristof Verhoeven in the €550 Mystery Bounty. By collecting 9 out of the 13 envelopes in play, he cashed €18.000 in bounties alone! To top it all off, he also won the tournament itself, adding another €6.865 to his winnings.
