Rake-model Pokahnights

How much do you pay as a player to participate in Pokahnights' live poker events?
At Pokahnights, we strive every day to offer you the best possible experience. But that experience doesn't just happen.

To participate in our live events, you pay a fee that not only grants you access to the tournament but also directly contributes to the unique Pokahnights environment. We strive for a model that delivers maximum value for players while also providing sufficient operating resources. Player membership fees are invested in five areas.

Locations

We provide attractive locations with all necessary amenities to guarantee a good poker experience.

Teamies

A dedicated team of more than 20 employees works every day to support the club and players.

Technology

We continuously invest in technology to maximize player comfort.

Sportify

A strong framework for our events through rankings, achievements, and leagues ensures challenge and a sporting experience.

Actions

We regularly provide unique tournaments, added giveaway events and unseen campaigns.

In short: your contribution as a player isn't just a ticket – it's an investment in a club that wants to move forward, in a growing community, and in the future of live poker in Belgium.

Pokahroom Antwerp

A combination of an annual membership fee and a low rake
Pokahroom Antwerp is a poker club. This means we only organize self-deal events with a maximum buy-in of €50 at this location. To operate this room, we charge an annual membership fee and very reasonable rake for the tournaments themselves. We work with three different buy-ins: €35, €40, and €50, with a rake rate of €4, €5, or €6 respectively. This averages 12%, one of the most competitive rates on the market.

CASINO POKER : 8% RAKE & €20 MEMBERSHIP FEE PER GAME DAY

  • Casino poker tournaments start with a buy-in from 125 euros.

  • We provide an average of 8% rake for each entry.

  • A one-time, daily membership fee of €20 is required to participate in casino poker tournaments. For longer multi-day events and multi-day festival series, we will work with customized packages tailored to the specific program.

  • All prize money is distributed among the players; no other fees or costs are deducted from the prize pool. At Pokahroom Middelkerke, we opt for a 100% transparent policy so everyone is fully informed.

The daily membership fee is the source of income for Pokahnights VZW. These funds are used to guarantee our work in the five areas mentioned above. By operating the casino, we have been able to guarantee what is likely the lowest rake in Europe. Just like us, Casino Middelkerke Betfirst wants to focus on poker with a strong offering and competitive rates. The membership fee is a one-time fee per day, regardless of how many entries or participations you make in one or more live casino tournaments.

Example

CASH GAMES : RAKE IN INSTALLMENTS & A LOW CAP PER HAND

  • The most played cash games are 2€/2€ or 5€/5€

  • On request, 5€/10€ or 10€/20€ can be played

  • Depending on the stake, pots are divided into brackets of €20, €100, or more. The bracket a pot falls into determines the rake. The higher the table's stake, the lower the rake.

  • For each table stake there is a cap per hand, this means that the rake of a hand will never be higher than the cap.

  • No membership fees are required to participate in the cash games.

Examples

Transparency, clarity and no surprises
We believe it's important that every player is fully aware of the rake model used in the various Pokahrooms at Pokahnights. Below are some examples. If you have any questions about the model we use, please don't hesitate to contact us.

  • New players pay a one-time fee of €15. This allows them to benefit from the club's activities for one year. Jan participated in the €40 Crazy Eights event and didn't re-enter. In total, Jan spent €55: €15 for membership fees, €5 for rake, and €35 for the prize pool.

Jan enjoyed it and decided to play again in the same event two weeks later. He didn't have to pay any membership fees, just the tournament buy-in. A total of €40, €35 for the prize pool, and €5 in rake for the non-profit organization's operations.

  • Naima was looking forward to a day of live poker. She's already pretty good at it, so she headed to Pokahroom Middelkerke where two events were on the agenda. She made two entries into The Queens Millions with a buy-in of €175 and also played one Famous Fives that evening for €375.

Naima paid a one-time membership fee of €20. She also paid two €15 in rake for The Queens Millions and one €30 for The Famous Fives, for a total of €60. A total of €665 of her total budget went into the prize pool.

She paid €745 for the entire day. Of that, €80 didn't go into the prize pool. This amounts to 10.73%, a very competitive percentage for a premium casino poker offering.

  • Vincent found AA at the €5/€5 cash game table. Luck smiled on him as two other players also found strong hands. After a lot of action, €640 was on the table. The dealer pushed €620 to him and took €20 in rake.

At the €5/€5 cash game tables, we apply a €20 cap when the pot exceeds €395, which was the case here. Therefore, a rake of 3.12% was taken. A very acceptable percentage for cash games.

Shortly after, Vincent played another good hand. The pot grew to €375. Of which he took €360, with €15 taken in rake. That's right, the pot wasn't higher than €395. This means the pot was placed in the penultimate bracket, good for €15 or 4% rake.
