Sportify Poker
From the beginning, Pokahnights has strived to make poker accessible, competitive, and a mind sport. Based on statistics, experience, and game analysis, we can conclude that poker is fundamentally a skill game. This vision was confirmed in 2024 when poker was officially recognized as a mind sport by the IMSA.
Today we are working on the full sportification of poker.
Soon, all Pokahnights players will have access to personal results, rankings, competitions, and their own achievements page. We're collaborating with Days of Poker, a new and carefully crafted media platform for the global poker scene, to realize this ambitious project.
Pokahchamp
Since 2009, the Pokahchamp has traditionally concluded the Pokahnights year: a final tournament where the club's top players compete for the title. In 2025, the event received a major update regarding qualification, fully in line with Sportify Poker principles. We will, of course, provide an attractive added prize pool for the Pokahchamp finalists.
All Time
In 2023, we introduced the €50 club poker events within the club circuit. Since then, we've carefully tracked all tournament results and built a comprehensive ranking based on this database. This will form the basis for further expanding the entire Sportify Poker concept in the coming years.
3 basic principles for points
When awarding points for Pokahnights Achievements, which are used to determine a player's monthly score, we follow three basic principles: points are awarded only for event achievements, the status of an achievement determines the maximum, and everyone competes on an equal footing each month.
Only for Event Achievements!
Pokah League points, the associated classes, and advancement to Pokahchamp are calculated solely based on Event Achievements. There are many other collectible achievements, but they don't impact points. This keeps things clear and transparent for everyone.
Status determines points!
The number of points you earn for completing Event Achievements depends on your lifetime status. You can never earn more points for an achievement than your lifetime status allows. This rewards players who are consistent in their play and consistently achieve good results .
A reset every month!
The number of ITM achievements in a given month determines the maximum number of points you can earn for an achievement. Each ITM that month, you can advance to a higher level. This ensures that all players have a level playing field . The following month, the ITM counter is reset for all players.
The more ITM performance you achieve in a month, the more points you can get: your lifetime status of an achievement in combination with your monthly number of ITMs determines the number of points you receive for an achievement.
Status
Each achievement has a lifetime flow. This flow determines how many hits you need to complete a specific achievement before advancing to the next status. There are five status levels: micro, low, mid, high, and ultra.
Classes and Pokahchamp
The event achievements themselves also have a point value, depending on their status. These points determine the class a player will play in and whether or not they can earn a ticket to the Pokahchamp.
EXAMPLE 1 - NO ULTRA SCORE FOR RALF'S WIN
Ralf earned two achievements this month : one ITM and a top 10. He's been a member of the club for over 10 years and has won over 20 live events, earning him lifetime Ultra status with the Win achievement and, of course, the ITM achievement. Yesterday, he won another event, earning 36 points... Why?
It was Ralf's second ITM achievement this month. This means he can score maximum points in the Low status of the achievements. Both his ITM and his Win are on Ultra, but these points are not awarded because this is only for the second ITM. That means 12 points for the ITM and 24 for the Win, good for a total of 36 points.
EXAMPLE 2 – NO ULTRA SCORE AGAIN FOR ISABELLE'S WIN
Isabelle has already collected dozens of TOP 3 achievements in the club, but she just can't seem to get a win. This month, she was on a roll again, playing ITM seven times , unfortunately still without a win... until yesterday, when she cleared a large field and took home her very first Pokahnights win . Good for 43 points. Why?
Even though her ITM score was already at 7 this month, normally good for Ultra scores, she only received 19 points for the Win . It was her first Win ever, so her lifetime status for the Win is set to Micro, meaning she can't get more points than the Micro. She did, of course, receive the Ultra score for the ITM, which is Ultra for life, and yesterday was already her 8th ITM, so GG, and 24 points there , good for a total of 43 points.
